The majority of the items are stored in boxes labeled by box number to correspond to items listed in the inventory book titled "Special Collections: John B. Medaris Collection. Items located in the special collections area of the fourth floor of Evans Library.

John Bruce Medaris (b. May 12, 1902, Milford, Ohio-d. 1990), Major General in the U.S. Army, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1918 and served in France during World War I. He was later commissioned as an officer and served with the 29th and 33rd Infantry Regiments in the U.S. and Panama. Although he resigned from the Army in 1927, he returned to active duty in 1939.
